Minimalism Response

This is a good example of minimalism because it doesn't have a lot of colors. It is all similar shades of gray. It also has little amounts of texture. I like it because the only few colors that aren't gray are the clothes the person is wearing, which makes it stick out.

This has all the same color: gray. There isn't much texture. The sky and the water look the same. I like it because it's so simple but also evokes a feeling of loneliness.

This is a good example. There isn't texture, it just looks like a plane in front of a yellow sheet of paper, even though you know that it is probably the sky. The color is a brilliant yellow with the exception of the small black plane in the corner, which really draws your attention. I like it mostly because of the bright yellow and position of the plane.

I found it easy to follow and I think it can be applied to any photograph you want.

Lost in the World Response

This video was about people being too obsessed and involved in their phones to really care about anything or be involved. They're too invested in themselves and their phones. It was actually kind of depressing, especially when the girl jumped from the building and all anyone cared about was filming it and then walked away without a care in the world. That really upset me because instead of people trying to stop her and caring about a human life, they only cared about a video or picture.

The Power of Internet Images Questions

1. She's trying to show she's adventurous, outgoing, goes out and does things a lot, happy, and carefree.

2. I suppose she was successful. The pictures do illustrate her going different places and enjoying them.

3. I don't know. You can't really tell through pictures because who they are online may not be who they are in real life.

The Last Girl Response

The change in viewpoint changes my interpretation of the image completely. The picture is actually of a man climbing a billboard picture of a young girl's face, which probably took a lot of prep and planning to do. It is one contiguous image because they just took a picture of him climbing. The billboard is in an urban setting, so I assume people in the city or a city-type area would see the picture. I feel maybe the intended audience is either parents or young girls. The girl's face doesn't really show much emotion, perhaps a bit of sadness, but she mostly just stares with a blank face. It makes me feel slightly uncomfortable or upset because she doesn't look happy and she's just staring right at you.

Responding to Image by Gottfried Helnwein

The image is of a man hiking up a woman's face. This is an artistic image that was photoshopped. I think it means that the man represents her thoughts or herself climbing over something big and it's showing that your biggest challenger is yourself/other people. I think his intent was to show that to people. To me this image says that the climb is going to be tough. The difference in scale between the man and the woman add to my interpretation of the photograph because it looks like he's climbing someone bigger than himself and trying to get over the situation.

Photograph Your Fears

Enochlophobia is the fear of crowds. I chose this fear because I am afraid of being surrounded by a large group of people, especially when they are focused on me or if I don't know them. I'm scared of this because I suffer from anxiety.
